The Philippines, Korea in war

The Philippines, Korea in war. In this blog, I would like to talk about the relationship between the Philippines and Korea (south-Korea). If the northern part attacks the south. I want my country to support the Koreans. Like they did in the Korean war. 

Korea (south Korea) 

As everyone knows. Since the Korean war, the country has been divided into 2 countries. North & south Korea has been in war ever since. The north keeps sending threats and the souths continues with their lives while keeping an eye. The capital city of south Korean is Seoul. The population of Seoul is around 10.29 million people. The language they speak is Hangul (한글). 

The Philippines

The Philippines is named after in the honour of the Spanish king; king Philip, the second. According to the Zhao Rogua's book: Zhu Fan Zhi written around the 13th century, during the song dynasty. There was a group of islands found in southern China's sea called Ma-i. It is possible that's the real name of the country we call now the Philippines. The capital city of the Philippines is Manila. It has around 12 million people. The language they speak is Tagalog.

The relationship between south Korea and the Philippines

Economic relationship

south Korea is the 6th biggest trading partner of the Philippines, while the Philippines is the third most attractive southeast Asian country for South Korean investors in 2011. Most tourists who comes to the Philippines (in 2017) from south Korea, followed by the United States (like duh), China (surprising) and then Japan (The country of Sushi, anime, samurai and ninja. 1 day I will visit you, fellow Asian country). In 20th place, the Netherlands. 

Military relationship 
Military relations between the two countries started during the Korean war, when the Philippine government sent their troops to enforce Allied Campaign against the communist North Korea. South Korea is an active arms supplier for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. They donated some of their F- 5A/B fighter jets to the Air Force. They also donated some of their T-41 trainer planes. The SOKOR have sold different small arms to the Philippines.

Lately news

North Korea who is ruled by Kim Jong-un. It isn't a big deal when North Korea threatens south Korea or any countries. But, Since the latest nuclear test. One who flew over Japan and landed in the sea. Their missiles are improving to the point that they are becoming a threat. It is true that other countries like Russia, China and Japan have a better missile than North Korea. But, we can all agree on that we are more afraid of the north Korean leader; Kim Jung-un wanting to use their weapons than the other countries. Who has the knowledge not to use the mass destructive weapon against man-kind, unless war breaks out. China seemed to be a bully towards the other, smaller neighbour- country men, than wanting a war against them. North Korea is willing to go to war against the south to unite the country. It seems all nice and meant well, but we know how he ruled north-Korea.

My thoughts

The weapons of north Korea are improving, but not enough to be a huge threat, at least not yet. Through sources as people who escaped north Korea, we know it's a leaving hell. He is living his life as a dictator, who let his own people starve to dead and kill innocent people. Like when a father commit a crime, his family also have to answer for his crime. 

The Filipinos

Our Filipino nation have helped the Koreans during world war 2. We see ourselves as allies. As a country who is very religious (Christian, Rome catholic and part Muslims). We should stand up and help others who are in trouble. I know we have our own problems in our country, but showing interest of care towards others is a good thing. Not for our image (which can be benefit), but being a good person, who doesn't wish ill to others. And to show our strength of belief, will and hope during dark times. The world often questions and test us, we can show them what we are made of. We often show our pride to be a Filipino. But, with that pride, we must show why. Why is a good thing to be a Filipino? Having too much pride is a sin. We will end up like being the devil, the one we are fighting against in our daily lives. 

Asia 

As many Asian countries, Korea has a beautiful culture. Besides K pop and K drama, I love the food. After the Korean war, south Koreans were poorer than the Philippines. But they have worked hard and became richer than us.  That says a lot of the people who work very hard to achieve wonderful things. We can learn from it. It is sad that there are and were figures in our government history who put our country down with their corrupt. In my vision, I dreamed about a united Asia- like the Europeans. We can keep each other in check, if one country become corrupt. In war, we can fight together and defend the Asian territories. We won't have to deal thinking about our neighbor country attacking us. Countries who fight on land and countries who can fight well in the navy (like the Philippines, Japan and south Korea). I used to wish to be born as an European or from another country and hated to be from the Philippines. But now, I'm proud to be a Filipino. I am proud to be an Asian and wish to unite it and become a great nation of Asia.

And if you are still not convinced. K pop and K drama are in stake. If south Korea lose. We lose our K drama, your oppas and noonas. Save K pop and K drama if you help south Korea.
